Download No Longer Available

Hi, guys

Thank you for all of the positive vibes you sent my mom last week we appreciate it so much. She is back home now and doing better. New posts will be coming this week. ❤️

I also want to mention that there have been some recent posts that I have been asked to remove by the record label or their representative I am happy to respect their wishes this included the recent Tina Turner, Dead Or Alive, A-HA, and a couple of others. please do not ask me to re-upload them because I cannot. In addition, I have also removed the files and download links for all posts for the years 2010 to 2018 due to storage space on my hosting server if you see an image saying “Download No Longer Available” that is the reason. As you know I do new transfers for old rips from time to time so some of those may appear again with a new transfer.

All of these measures are to keep space available for new posts or to comply with the record label wishes in order to keep BTG going forward.

Thank you again for all of your love and support.

Can you now add that image to the 2019 posts? The files on /bg3/ are no longer available.

Good luck on RANDOMLY making new transfers with your newest turntable.

understandable, however logic dictates to just delete those dead posts. and if you do new rips later just cut and paste the info. no point in having a site full of dead links. its just a waste of time for the viewers to do alot of searches if everything comes up dead.

When I re-tag old downloads or check the origins of files I find elsewhere, I often rely on Paul’s old posts. They still have hi-res artwork. And knowing the exact date something was posted, or whether it was one in which Paul combined tracks from more than one release, is useful for me. So the old posts should stay up, in my opinion. Also, some of the downloads can still be obtained from…um…an archive…dot org… but you have to know the original URL in order to get them. So I prefer the posts stay up, even if the download links… Read more »

Maybe an odd request. But is there a list of what you have posted over the past?
I think it would be nice to see things even if they are removed and maybe we can help ech other to find a way to get hold of it anyway if something amazing is missed in the past.

What is needed is a Facebook group for BTG fans to swap/trade the older downloads that have been removed to make room or because of record company requests. Something not seen to be run by you Paul…that way the restorations could be kept alive. The first time I noticed this issue was when all your Go West rips disappeared. A few years on you redid them all and they stayed up so I guess the record companies look for these things in fits and starts…or only when some kind of re-release is planned. So hopefully the artists affected right now… Read more »

I am open to share what I have downloaded from Paul, with all respect to his opinion on this subject.
I concentrated on higher resolution, have a lot, however miss a different lot.
A compiled list of all uploads would be helpful.

diobel

Great that you and others are interested in doing something positive…Either sharing legacy rips or compiling a list. I can go a long way to doing a list is I can collate nearly everything Paul has done. The really early stuff I don’t have but I know what was done. What I do have is 16/44. This 24bit stuff is complete snake oil guys…read up on it. And do a blind listening test. Anyway all this needs to be done with Paul’s blessing or not at all. So waiting for a word from you Paul…?

Hello Paul, how are you:
First, I’m glad your mom is doing good. You are indeed, blessed to have her with you.
Second, your post says “all posts for the years 2010 to 2018 due to storage space” are no longer available, but I have checked your pages, there are many, many from 2019 not available 🙁
I’m still checking the rest of pages (2020 2021)
Cheers..

I don’t understand the motivation for this. Most of these tracks are remixes that are otherwise unavailable. And any version of this song you could legitimately buy in a store is compressed to hell and useless to me. A shame really.

It is always interesting to hear stories of record companies asking to remove posts. If you were posting full albums, that would be a different story (in my opinion). But posting remixes, that are either extremely hard to find or are not even available on specific formats. I have always felt like it is good promotion. You have introduced me to artists that I may not know much about and some who I have loved for years but didn’t have access to the original remixes. It leads me back to the artists catalog, and I have purchased/streamed many albums based… Read more »

Hi Paul, So very happy that your Mom is doing better. You are such a wonderful son and person. She’s very lucky to have you. Thanks for letting all of us know what’s happening with the site and certain downloads. You have always made it clear about such things in your Burning The Ground FAQ, of which I quote: “DISCLAIMER The contents of this blog are free and for promotional use only. Please support the artist by purchasing their music, merchandise, and attending their concerts. If you are the copyright owner or creator and wish to have your content removed,… Read more »

Que bueno paul, que tu mama este de vuelta, sin problemas. Lo de los sellos no me extraña, siempre lucrando y nunca ven la buena fe de las personas que comparten lo que poseen. Pero en fin son las reglas del juego.
Saludos que estes bien.

First of all the important question…..How is your mum getting on and how are you Paul ? The internet powers are making it harder for people to share their love of music, you get this all the time on various sites and YouTube checks everything that is uploaded and even if it’s music in the background, they show their copyright. The best way forward would be to upload and keep the links open for a short while, and see if you get any complaints from the record companies…..It’s annoying when management of bands release certain compilations, but exclude certain versions,… Read more »

It’s interesting they didn’t just go to trying to shut you down. It seems there is some interest by the labels in re-releasing some of the 80’s 12″ mixes. I came across this by accident about two weeks ago – https://www.nowmusic.com/albums/now-thats-what-i-call-12-80s/ . I was trying to check the NOW page for information on the next CD release (for other family members – I’m not into a lot of recent music). I ended-up on the UK site instead of the US one, and saw that. I have no idea if there’s going to be a US release or not, even if… Read more »

You can find the NOW “12in”, “Extended”, and “Remix” CDs on eBay. They can be found from US Sellers. The UK Sellers ask insane shipping costs. They are nothing special in my opinion.

The material digitized and processed by Paul is superior quality and he gives us wider range of artists.

Most of the songs placed on 80s CD compilations is the same material over and over and over again.
Rhino was the best with their 70s and 80s collections.

This was expected to happen eventually. As it is Record Companies that owns the rights of their work and spreading it without their consent or license to distribute their music might not be a good thing to do. And if they ask is better to comply or face harsh concequences like getting the site shut down. Now when they have found you. I would tread lightly and mind my step. EMI, Universal, Warner and other bigger labels are in hunt for sites spreading their works. My tip is to comply when the record companies asks. I would take that very… Read more »

Hi Paul. I’m glad to hear your mom is better. That means everything.
I’m sorry to hear that you had to take some of those posts down. Maybe in a case like that have an “email me for more info” option. Just a thought. All the best.

First, I am sending continued good energy to you and your mother. My mother has had massive health problems this past year, and my stepmother died during the same period, so I can understand the focus there. Sending positive energy.

Second, I’m just grateful for anything you post, in any form, and will respect that you’ve had to take some down.

Thank you for ALL you do!

This is such as shame 🙁

I am a massive A-ha fan and it will be sad to no longer have any new amazing vinyl rips.

I wonder if there can be any resolution to this. Maybe a mailing list subscription to get exclusive links.

Meanwhile, it’s sad to see A-ha go.

Thank you for all you do.

That is amazing news!
Yet very odd indeed.
Hopefully we can have much more A-ha in the future.
Thank you!!!

The records labels are silly. They should buy your download stats to know what to rerelease instead of getting in to you.
Anyway, please keep yourself safe and your family too.
We certainly don’t want you to have problems with the justice because of your blog.

Its a terrible idea because i am no way affililiated with site or its owner in any way

I completely respect the record labels and their decision to not release their analogue masters in DSD128

If past releases got some how distrubedited on a private tracker in the lesser 24/96 PCM format we had nothing to do this

Its a terrible idea and i hope no one shares DJ Paul T’s work freely now that he cannot post his amazing restoration work freely

Hey Paul First and foremost – all the best to your mum. When you don´t have your health everything else is irrelevant. Which leads me to your announcement. Of course we understand that you have to take down your posts. Maybe the labels would be interested in listening to your posts and ideally buying them 😉 – then we wouldn´t have to listen to so many mediocre or even awful re-releases. Just kidding. Keep up the good work, dear friend, as long as you may and enjoy doing it. You´ll always have my and our support – morally and financially.… Read more »
