I was one of the few that didn’t care for the song “I touch myself”… but really liked a lot of her other songs… I remember one album not having a bad song in the whole of it. Not sure if she wrote the songs, or just vocally made them work… but as a group, they did deserve more attention. Chrissy just oozed sexuality from her videos, it was almost scary. I am a big fellow, but she seemed too hot to mess with… or she was more trouble that one person could handle, lol. Madonna was a tease, Chrissy… Read more »
I don’t remember this Divinyls single as I didn’t really catch on to their releases until around 1990/91.
Thanks Paul 🙂
You’re welcome, Marco 🙂
THANK YOU! Can’t wait to hear the remix of this song. I wish the record label had supported their “I Touch Myself” single with some remixes. I think it could have been much bigger, if people were able to play them in the clubs.
I never quite understood why this band wasn’t bigger. They were like the OZ version of Berlin. But come to think of it, the otherwise amazing Australian music scene of the 80s was very male-dominated. Other female artists from Australia (Olivia, Kylie, Dannii, Tina, etc.) really became famous in England/Europe first.
I think I made up for Jeff’s lack of words below 🙂
LOl 🙂
LOL! You really did, Martika. I am a bit under the weather so that’s why I kept it short and simple. I’m feeling a little bit better and appreciated the humor. I also restrained myself from going into a “I Touch Myself” review. So many of Paul’s posts make me almost want to do that!
Love ya, Martika!!
Have a great weekend!
Jeff
P.S. Thanks for noticing my pink hearts!!
lol 🙂 Glad you’re feeling better!
I couldn’t understand why they didn’t receive much support in America, except maybe because they weren’t promoted properly here. Sadly, we lost the lead vocalist, Chrissy Amphlett, to breast cancer in 2013. Here’s a video that Olivia and others made after her death.

yeah, that video is amazing! And gives the song a whole new meaning!
Wow! Paul your transfer sounds better than Rubellan’s remaster, and his work is some of the best. Cheers!
Thanks so much that is a compliment for sure. 🙂
Thank You. Great band.
You’re welcome
Ooh, Paul! I love this band! Thank you so much!!🩷🩷🩷
Jeff
I was shocked you did not write a novel for this one, Jeff. LOL 🙂
He made up for it with three pink hearts!
Thank you! I don’t believe that instrumental version is available elsewhere.
You’re welcome, Dean.
