‘Monged’ means Stoned…so ‘Off Yer Mong’ imply’s that your Sober in a way.
Since this is a rare example of a DOA ‘love-song’ it could mean he was being serious about it all ?

Thanks for this. I’m hoping the instrumental mix is the straight instrumental of the album version. 😉

And now I’m going to go research what “mong” means. 🙂

Thank you for this great 12″!

This song should have deserved further remixes like the other 3 tracks from Youthquake and, most of all, a Japanese release! But who knows? Maybe in the SAW vault there’s an unreleased mix version… like the Buzzin’ Bees [aka TDF (Two Dogs F*cking)] Mix for Spin Me, that saw light of the day just after 25 years.

Where is Stefano? LOL!
He’ll surely be excited by another re-rip.
Well, I am too. And i thought this would be a better follow-up to You Spin Me Round rather than Lover Come Back To Me.
Thanks Paul!
Let’s see what will be up for Disco Friday. 😀

Here he is: very excited with re-rips, but Dead Or Alive isn’t my cup of tea. But I’ll keep that a bit quiet, because when Paul posted his series of DOA 12 inches in March last year, I more or less got bashed on my negative comment 🙂

I dont think there was a actual meaning to this phrase. That like trying to explain what the Dust Monkey Love Bubble Club Mix was all about… haha I thought that the DOA 12inches were always top notch. They would take album versions and remix them into something even more lovable than what was originally created… They actually REMIXED a lot of their tunes…. I would have loved to sit in the studio for one of those sessions.

Yes!

Somehow missed this first time around. They could’ve released any track off Youthquake and it would’ve been brilliant.

Surprised at the terminology used in the mix’s name. Dunno if it means the same elsewhere, but in 80s Britain ‘mong’ only had one meaning, and it wasn’t a positive one.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure they mean Off Your Face/ Out of Your Mind, it just seems a really odd choice of slang to express that, esp for a major record label to agree to. That was the 80s, I guess. 😀
