Thank you so much, Paul, for this amazing resource of yours that I have just discovered 🙂
This is not a complaint, but the four bar timpani/orchestral intro for I Want You is very muffled and crackly – is it meant to be that way?

A versão 12″ é um remix muito bem feito. Desde a primeira vez que a escutei (anos 90, em uma pista de patinação no gelo), fiquei doido por ela xD

Grato!

I agree, with Venus, preserving the rare mixes, dubs and edits you do laboriously and unselfishly is inspirational !

Some folk can’t do right for doing wrong ! Loved all the Singles and the Nude LP as well. The only thing I’d of changed about this album was the title. PWL were suddenly SO HIP it seemed as so many reviewers floundered for a reason to slag this off. Though if your on any of the Facebook pages you will have seen the Single Reviews from The Pop Press of old. They always seem to have reviewed what they ‘thought’ they heard rather than what the Record actually sounded like. As Pete Burns pointed out DOA were responsible for… Read more »

Thank you so much… even if I have all DOA records, you are helping me to have their vinyls to my computer, since my turntable is more dead than alive! Not all their mixes and remixes and dubs and whatever were burnt onto CD. Your work is so GREAT and PRECIOUS!

Such a deliciously sleazy dance track! Thanks Paul, your good taste is unimpeachable!

I seem to remember that the title meant the radio ignored this tune as it was released at the height of the AIDS scare, and it was thought the track promoted promiscuity. There are lots of stupid people out there! Didn’t stop me buying the various mixes 🙂

Thanks Paul for yet again another great post! DOA was and is still my fave group. I still play every album they released and of course your posts as well. You really have helped me with vinyls since my turntable gave up on me years ago. Thanks and looking forward to more Dead Or Alive posts!

Hot diggity dog! You’ve surprised me with a DOA / SAW remix that I never knew existed. Even if I’ve seen this UK 12″ in the bins, I probably passed it up because nothing on the sleeve implies I Want You is a remix. Thanks, Paul!

Thanks for the DOA ! I loved their music ! I think someone should do a Cole Porter/Art Deco/ Buzby Berkely style musical with their songs. I loved the Dead House ‘Dub’ version of this song !

What a thrill this 12-inch is!! At the time of its release in the US, the New York City area was all about Latin Hip Hop/Freestyle. This track was such an excellent representation of this electro-hip hop sound in the realm of Shannon’s “Give Me Tonight” and other tracks such as this one. I loved this with a passion because of the great sound, the mix-tricks and those naughty lyrics. Pete could always turn a phrase and the lust came through. This is high quality stuff here. Thank you Paul for giving us this and with the remix on the… Read more »
