Chicago – Along Comes A Woman (US 12″ Promo)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984

Side A

Re-Rip Newly Remastered!

Originally I posted this one on May 3, 2011. But for those who may have missed it or if you are a new reader just discovering BTG. I decided to give this one a new rip with my newer Ortofon Super 30 stylus. This 12″ is also being posted in 24 bit flac for the very first time!

“Along Comes a Woman” is a song produced by David Foster and written by Peter Cetera and Mark Goldenberg for the group Chicago and recorded for their album Chicago 17 (1984), with Cetera singing lead vocals. The fourth single released from that album, it reached #14 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. The music video featured Peter Cetera in an Indiana Jones / Casablanca type setting in the jungle. It was released in what was known to be the “music video age” of MTV.

The US 12″ promo features a dance mix by Chilean-born American record producer, music mixer and audio engineer Humberto Gatica. The same mix appears on both sides of the single.

Again, I love the LOVE you receive from your fans Paul. Well, you’ve got some love from me too!! Thanks for this. I just marvel about your posts, they are so varied. I love the dance mixes of pop records I’ve missed the first time around. The labels just don’t care to release these classics. You’re keeping dance music’s legacy alive when you dust off the past and bring them back to life. What a tribute you pay to the remixers and artists with your fine work. I think you are heaven Paul.

HUGE THANKS!!!

Jeff

I like this dance mix and I like the album ’17’ too.
Glorious era of Chicago, with the amazing voice of Peter Cetera.
Great that this mix has become available again on your blog!

Hmm, it seems I’m the only one who thinks it’s great you re-ripped this one. Thank you Paul, even if you did it only for me 🙂

You’re not alone, Stefano. This is a great track and I’m stoked to see it get a re-rip. Originally, when Paul posted this one, it was one of my favorite posts he had ever done. It still is I was pleased with the quality of the rip, but I remember Paul mentioned that he wasn’t completely happy with it. I usually don’t compare the rips when Paul does a re-rip, but this time I did because I was curious. I do hear a change for the better! If I had better equipment, I might notice more, but I’m easy to… Read more »
