Great tribute to Steve.
Thanks Paul
Another great composer gone. Kind of depressing. Calls for a The Communards week for sure. They released so many great records. “Co Cold The Night” will be played at my funeral (not joking) and will always be one of my favourite songs of my whole life. “Tomorrow” and “Disenchanted” I love too.
Have a great weekend, Paul and Jeff and everyone around here. Be safe and enjoy each and every day there is in your life.
Always loved this song. Sad news about Steve and Robbie. Dance and reggae today people.
Hi Paul,
Thanks for posting this. Its a nice memorial to the band.
Hopefully, they will be at peace now.
Take care.

Robbie Shakespeare is gone also too [Sly & Robbie]
Was very sad to hear the news about Steve Bronski yesterday, so glad you posted this today Paul. I am always amazed when I look back at old press and interviews of how bold and open Bronski Beat were back in the early 80s, running the very likely risk (back then) of being shunned and having no success. They were very inspirational in more than just their music. BTW, I’ve never seen the back of this sleeve before but recognise that building straight away – Liverpool Cathedral (the largest in the UK). https://goo.gl/maps/Ysk7ZBpAEM9xvH6V8 Hit That Perfect Beat was used in… Read more »
Hit That Perfect Beat was used in the disco scene of the film Letter To Brezhnev, which was set and filmed in Liverpool, so I guess that’s the connection. 🙂
What a magnificent posting this is! Thank you, Paul for this wonderful record.
Hope you and Song And Dance, Daniel and the rest here have a nice weekend.
Jeff
There could be nothing else today than a Bronski post. Well done Paul. My favourite Bronski song will always be Smalltown Boy. RIP Steve. Thanks Paul for another amazing week. Have a nice weekend.
You’re welcome, Daniel. Have a great weekend 🙂
