Oooh, so hoping someone would mention the Barbi & The Ken’s record. I love this and the B-52’s were definitely a huge influence. I love the break with the James Bond theme in there too. Mothloop, you’ve got excellent taste. I’m quite sure Paul knows this and if not, he’d flip for it.

Those early Barbie and the Kens tracks are pretty good stuff. I really like “Falling In Love With Myself” too, which I think came many years later – not even sure it was the same band lineup as the original EP.
Don’t think I know this one (but the pressing on quality label Metronome should be perfect). I’m curious to find out.

I don’t remember this from the movie but now I want to watch it again! I had never heard ‘Unexpected Lovers’ before, but I checked it out and you are right, it is similar. Good ears!

How cool are you Paul posting a song used in a horror film!! I’ve always been a fan of Mr. Bobby “O” but I don’t know this track. I almost thought it was a cover version of Icicle Works’ song. I’m so looking forward to hearing this. Mr. Orlando’s records were alway such fun.

You’re right Paul, I do love it. And like Gianni stated below it soooooo reminded me of “Unexpected Lovers” by Lime. Bobby Orlando was famous for exploiting sounds from other records, but still made the productions his own. This was so cool and disco-ish!! Takes me back to the Hi-NRG sound of the 1980’s.
