Thanks Paul. Been filling in my collection of Billy Ocean, but unable to find extended
version of African Queen on CD. Missed this the first time around. Thanks again. 🙂

Thanks a lot man!!!
I can’t even begin to thank you for putting up a copy of not just European Queen, but African Queen as well. I’ve been trying to find these two “alternate” versions for years.
Paul, Can you please by popular demand can you upload this song for everybody so we can download it. If you can download on the RAR Format so we all can have it, I would appreciate it. I know I know its time consuming, but I want to financial support you, but if you can’t get what I or what people want then how we can financially support you. You are the best I would appreciate it, but that why they call you the King of DJ….Dave, Elk Grove, California. Maybe you can send it by email to ALL that… Read more »
Hi Dave,
The links have been fixed. Enjoy!
Paul
I clicked the MP3 link and I just go to another site. I already signed that petition against Hollywood trying to get the internet regulated a few times but I was not able to get the download.
Fantastic blog!
I’ve found things I didn’t even know they existed.
Could you please re-upload the remixes of Mystery Lady???
Thank you very much.
Paul, can you repost the Billy Ocean’s remixes?. Thanks a lot. Maybe in mp3.
Hi Paul! Can you repost the FLAC with the correct download link? It still points to megaupload. Thanks in advance!
Hey Paul — It would be great to have the “Carribean Queen” 12″ as well. There’s a great instrumental of the track on it. Thanks much.
Interesante, gracias.
Couldn’t figure out which Queen I liked more…so I stated my love for them both! http://soundcloud.com/adigitalneedle/billy-ocean-queen-adn
Top notch blog you’ve got yourself. Really enjoy it every day!
Thank you dear Paul!
Thanks Paul for ALL you do!! Keep up the grand work you do.
The track times are incorrect on the vinly label. You can believe me I ripped the vinyl.
I do, no prob 🙂 It’s just that i collect this song with different variations (mostly thru web and p2p)and all these tracks are so different in lenghts.. But thanks a lot for these!!!
No problem they were bad about listing incorrect track times on vinyl. I try to make a note of it when I catch it and update the info on Discogs etc.
Thanks
Thanks Paul!
You’re welcome.
Yes, loving these Billy goodness all around!
This Billy remix is one of his rarest, and what a treat to have those Queens on the B-side. Much thanks, Paul!
btw, isn’t this the 4th and final single from the album, after Caribbean Queen, Loverboy and Suddenly?
You’re welcome Ric. Yeah you are correct I guess it was the fourth since “European Queen” was released as a single also.
In the US, “Mystery Lady” was the fourth single released from the “Suddenly” album. A fifth single, Billy’s remake of The Beatles’ “Long And Winding Road”, was released and peaked at #24 on the Adult Contemporary chart, but failed to make the Pop Chart at all.
By the way, I checked and, coincidentally, “Mystery Lady” ALSO peaked at #24 in Cashbox, the week of August 31, 1985.
Thanks for this rare treat from Billy, Paul! I,too, am loving all these extended versions from him. I wonder if there was ever an extended version of “Suddenly”?
Thank you for this 12”, Paul! I don’t think I have any of these versions 🙂
Why so much Billy Ocean lately? Is there a life event of which I’m unaware?
I have never heard or knew of this extended version of Mystery Lady! Thank you so much for this post! Chwee (Sg)
