Barbra – Streisand – Shake Me, Wake Me (When It’s Over) (US 12″ Promo)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1975

A Stereo Side

DISCO FRIDAY!

Re-Rip Newly Remastered!

Originally I posted this one on July 23, 2011. But for those who may have missed it or if you are a new reader just discovering BTG. I decided to give this one a new rip with my newer Ortofon Super 30 stylus. This 12″ is also being posted in 24 bit flac for the very first time!

“Shake Me, Wake Me (When It’s Over)” is a 1966 hit single written and produced by Holland–Dozier–Holland and released as a single by the Four Tops on the Motown label.

Barbra Streisand recorded a cover of the song for her 1975 pop album Lazy Afternoon. The single would only make to the promo stage and did not chart. “Shake Me, Wake Me (When It’s Over)” would also become Barbra’s first ever 12″ extended disco single.

Bizarrely enough, I was just listening to this exact song on youtube, without knowing that you had posted it here– and it turned out to be your latest post! I was going to download the song from somewhere else, but now I won’t have to! Thanks! 🙂

Paul….first thanks! Second the time printed on the 12″ is wrong, it’s at least 5:30. There was a promo and commercial 7″ and is a completely different mix coming in at 4:55.

A stone-cold classic and far more rare than it deserves to be. Thank you for making it available (again.)

Okay, did I already say that your re-rip tsunami is being appreciated A LOT?
And did you know that Streisand is one of those artists that need a re-rip BADLY?
And did I mention that you’re the BEST VINYL RIPPER OF ALL TIMES?
And do you know that you’ve made my (Fri)day?
