The Crime Fighters Inc. – Bat Attack ’89 (Germany 12″)

Burning The Ground Exclusive 1989

“Bat Attack ’89” by Crime Fighters Inc. is a fascinating novelty record that brings a fresh twist to the iconic Batman theme. Released in 1989, this track combines a catchy beat at 128 Bats Per Minute with the distinctive flair of Australian singer Tina Arena’s vocals. The production team, known for their innovative mixes, transformed Neil Hefti’s classic theme into a danceable hit that resonated with audiences, helping it reach the Top 40 in Australia during its release. It’s a great example of how pop culture can inspire creative reinterpretations in music!

**The “Bonus Bats” are lifted from the Australia 12″, and are exclusive to that release.

Thank You! We Reached Our Fundraising Goal

Hi BTG Family,

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who contributed to our recent fundraising campaign. We reached our goal of $2,000, and it’s all thanks to your incredible generosity!

I know everyone has a lot on their plates, so your willingness to support Burning The Ground means the world to me. I am continually humbled and inspired by this community.

Mark your calendars—our next fundraising campaign will kick off in April! But remember, you can always contribute at any time, whether through a donation or just leaving a friendly comment.

Thank you again for your support!

Sincerely,
DjPaulT

Help Keep BTG Thriving: Crucial Fundraiser

Hello, BTG community,

October is here, and it’s time for our second fundraiser of 2024!  For those new to BTG, we hold a fundraiser every six months to maintain our Burning The Ground PayPal account. These funds support site hosting, security, monitoring, protection, requested records, and equipment maintenance.

Why This Fundraiser Is Crucial:

This fundraiser is crucial to keep BTG thriving. I recently received an email from our hosting service informing us that they are updating CPU and storage limits to enhance website performance. As a result, BTG will be moved to a higher-priced tier, increasing our hosting costs from $295.50 to $422.14 every two years. Additionally, we pay $200 annually for website security and firewall protection through Sucuri.

Due to these rising expenses, I’ve raised our fundraising goal from $1,500 to $2,000, which I believe we can achieve together. With the renewal date approaching on November 1,

How You Can Help:

Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. You can help by visiting our Donation page on PayPal or by clicking one of the yellow donate buttons throughout the site. Donations can be made securely using your debit card, credit card, or PayPal account.

Your support is invaluable and ensures that BTG continues to thrive. Thank you for being a part of our community!

Dan Reed Network – Ritual (Germany 12″)

Burning The Ground Exclusive 1988

“Ritual” is the debut single recorded by American Rock band Dan Reed Network formed in 1984 by Dan Reed in Portland, Oregon. The band signed to Mercury Records with the help of Derek Shulman and was managed by Bill Graham. In late 1987, the group released their eponymous debut album, produced by Bruce Fairbairn and mixed by Mike Fraser at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia. “Ritual” was released as the first single peaking at #38 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 1988. “Ritual” became the band’s only top-40 single in America.

This single was not released in the UK

The video was filmed on New Year’s Eve at the Starry Night Theater in Portland, Oregon. Lawrence Jordan directed the video – he had directed videos and concerts by The Who, Sting, Mariah Carey, Billy Joel, Tony Bennett, and the top-rated series “Live by Request” for the A & E Channel.

Lawrence Jordan wasn’t the only director in consideration for “Ritual”. DRN’s manager Bill Graham approached his good friend Francis Ford Coppola about working with his new band. Unfortunately, Francis had just lost his son and needed time to grieve.
