When I started Ladies Of The 80s: Soundtrack Edition, I planned to make it a single-themed week.
Then one week became two.
Two became three.
And somehow, there are still plenty of soundtrack singles waiting in the wings.
Over the past three weeks, we have revisited familiar favorites, uncovered forgotten gems, explored rare 12-inch mixes, and returned to a few movies whose soundtracks were far more memorable than the films themselves.
The response has been wonderful, and I have enjoyed reading your memories, stories, and personal connections to these records.
So, I have one question.
Are you ready for a fourth week of Ladies Of The 80s: Soundtrack Edition?
There are still more ladies, more movies, more remixes, and more vinyl waiting to be heard.
Wednesday will be an off day because I have a few doctor appointments, but the series will return on Thursday.

Personally I’ve been enjoying this series. I’m sure you have enough for this to continue for weeks. I know some people are eager to move on to some other things, but really, what’s the rush? All in good time, for now let’s enjoy the soundtracks! Thank you for all that you do!!

Sure-why not? I agree there’s a limit of “decent” film tracks worth doing but summink like Madame X (who if I am correct, was produced as an offshoot project by Bernadette Cooper from Klymaxx) “Just That Type Of Girl”, which has a 6:00+ minute version on the Fatal Beauty CD soundtrack but the 12” had a nearly 8 minute-long actual club mix. It won’t be easy because of all the quiet parts when the beat drops but if anyone can do it, it’ll be you.

This segment on female soundtracks certainly opened a great chapter, and I hope it continues. However, I have a problem: you should pay attention to the suggestions you receive. I imagine there are thousands, or perhaps many, but you should take them into account and also select the soundtracks very carefully. While a film might have five promotional tracks, only one or two songs are likely to be worldwide hits. While it’s a fun idea, a lot of the material in this narrow category is pretty weak. 80s soundtracks are usually more miss than hit. There are so many other themes with more potential.

I think there are some questions that just might not need to be asked! I mean yes please 🙂 I know it might take away from other categories but this has been such a fun event that I for one hope it continues a bit longer (or even returns again in the future). Hi Paul! To be honest I would prefer we shelve this category. There are dozens of massive hits (at least in the USA) from the 80s that have not yet been posted here. A few of these would be much appreciated. Thank you so much for all that you do!
