Icehouse – No Promises (US 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1986

“No Promises” is the first single released by Australian band, Icehouse from the band’s 1986 album, Measure for Measure. In the US the 12″ single was released with different track listings than what appeared on the UK and Australian versions. The Steve Thompson & Michael Barbiero mixes on this 12″ are exclusive to this release.

The single reached #30 on the Australian singles chart. In the United Staes “No Promises” reached #78 on the Billboard Hot 100, but became a top 10 dance single reaching #7 on the Billboard Dance chart.

Icehouse – Hey Little Girl (Special Club Mix) (Europe 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1982

“Hey Little Girl” is a single released by Australian band Icehouse, the second single from the band’s 1982 album, Primitive Man. The album and single were co-produced by band member and the track’s writer, Iva Davies, and Keith Forsey (Billy Idol). It was released in October 1982, on Regular Records on 7″ and 12″ vinyl formats. UK and Europe releases by Chrysalis Records were also on 7″ and 12″ formats, but with different track listings. The single was then released in the US in 1983 on the same formats. On “Hey Little Girl”, Iva Davies uses the Linn drum machine — the first for an Australian recording. “Hey Little Girl” peaked at No. 7 on the Australian singles chart and No. 2 in Switzerland, No. 5 in Germany, Top 20 in UK, Sweden and Netherlands, and No. 31 on U.S. the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1987

“Crazy” is a 1987 single by the Australian rock/synthpop band Icehouse, from the Man of Colours album, the single entered Number 3 on the Australian ARIA charts. The song was written by band members Iva Davies, Robert Kretschmer and Andy Qunta. and produced by David Lord.

In the U.S. “Crazy” peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100.

**This 12″ is misprinted as “Manic Mix” and plays the album version instead. The “Manic Mix” is also known as 12″ Mix and appears on the U.S. 12″ Promo which I will be posting at a later date.

Originally I posted this one on April 21, 2011. But for those who may have missed it or if you are a new reader just discovering BTG. I decided to give this one a new rip with my newer Ortofon Super 30 stylus. This 12″ is also being posted in 24 bit flac for the very first time!

“Hey Little Girl” is a single released by Australian band, Icehouse, the second single from the band’s 1982 album, Primitive Man. It was released in October, 1982, on Regular Records in 7″ Vinyl Single and 12″ Vinyl Single formats. UK and Europe releases by Chrysalis Records were also on 7″ and 12″ formats, but with different track listings. The single was then released in the US in 1983 on same formats. “Hey Little Girl” features Iva Davies using the Linn drum machine – the first for an Australian recording.
