“I Got You Babe” is a 1965 number-one hit single originally recorded by American pop music duo Sonny & Cher.
In 1985 UB40 with Chrissie Hynde recorded the song for the album “Baggariddim” (also appearing on The Pretenders’ 1987 album The Singles). It reached #1 on the UK charts in August 1985 (#28 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100).
