Olivia Newton-John – The Rumour (US 12″)

Posted by DjPaulT on May 31st, 2017

I have so many great memories dancing to this track back in ’88. I thought it was so cool that Olivia was getting heavy club play I love hearing it beat mixed in with all the other club hits of the day.

Thank you Olivia for all of the Love & Light you have shared with me and so many others over the years. Get well soon.

Ever since I found out about Olivia, you have been constantly on my mind Paul. Thank you for all of your postings from this world-famous icon. I love this song and I’m very happy you’ve re-posted this track. And very special thanks for the Roy McLeod remix. Mr. McLeod has always been a favorite of mine and his mixes are incredibly well done. Like so many others, Olivia Newton-John is in my thoughts and prayers.

    Bright Blessings!!

was shocked when I got the news yesterday from her Facebook page. I knew she had postponed some tour dates because of back pain but had no idea it would turn so serious. Olivia is a fighter and does so much for other people. I know that she will beat this and be back to recording and touring. If you have not picked up her latest album I highly recommend it it’s called “LIV ON”.

  3. Stefano Says:

Didn’t know she has cancer again. Terrible news.
Nice gesture to post this remix package with a re-rip treatment.

    Thanks Stefano.

  4. David G Says:

Thanks for posting this re-rip. A great remix, for sure. I’ve been listening to a lot of Olivia’s ’80s stuff today, since it makes me happy to hear it. I truly hope Olivia can have successful treatment and get back to good health very soon.

    Hi PAul,

I sensed somehow you’d be upset being a great fan, my wife and I love her music.

Our best wishes our with Olivia.

Life is a lottery sometimes and we wish her all the best..

    Kev & Helen

  6. Richard Says:

When I was far younger Olivia Newton-John was the big obsession for many of us overly hormonal hetero teenagers. At least in my social circle it wasn’t until Farrah Fawcett came on the scene that her popularity waned.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of her songs but I loved her beautiful voice. Perhaps it was no coincidence that my future spouse had a passing resemblance to Olivia. Hopefully her treatment will be successful and she can go on performing for her fans.

    Thanks for his rip.

  7. tony Says:

Olivia is an amazing person and performer….I have had the pleasure of meeting and sharing special moments at many meet and greets including a fan club party where I was chosen by Olivia to take her picture with fans (with their cameras)..she said “giv your camera to Tony” he’ll take the pictures…. so I spent about 20 minutes taking pictures of her with fans….it was special moment I will never forget….
Olivia will be back at her best..she is a thriver…..thank you for sharing this.

  8. Daniel Says:

Thank you Paul for this re-rip and the special Ultimix. I loved this single. My personal favorite is “Soul kiss”. Her latest album “LIV ON” is great. Olivia belongs to my very favorite artists and I really hope she will return and LIV(e) ON.

  9. Luis Says:

I am very happy to see this rip. To me, this is one of her three best songs. On the other hand, I was sad to know that she has cancer again. I hope God bless her and give her the strength to fight it.

When I was a teenager I was in love with Olivia for both, her songs and her smile.

  10. ash3011 Says:

Hi Paul. Brilliant rip of a brilliant track. One of my favourite Livvy songs. As a long standing fan I was saddened to hear her cancer is back but I’m sure she’ll get through it again and she knows she has our love and support.

Strangely for the last couple of weeks after I’ve downloaded the mp3 versions of your postings and added them to my iTunes to listen to using the m3u file, anything longer than 4:13 stops playing at that point and shoots to the end of the track. If I DON’T use the m3u file and add the tracks individually they play fine all the way through. Do you know why that might be happening?
