Burning The Ground: DjPaulT's 80's and 90's Remixes

80's and 90's 12 Inch Mixes

Wham! – Summer Fun Mega Mix (US 12″ Promo)

Posted by DjPaulT on January 4th, 2017

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1990

I originally posted this fun 12″ on George’s birthday way back in 2012. At that time I was still using ClickRepair and the old stylus this 12″ was way over due to have a new meticulous re-rip and 2017 remaster. Also created a new picture sleeve to go along with it!

On this 12″ we have the Wham! “Summer Fun Megamix”. A really nice mix featuring some of Wham!’s biggest hits including “Wham! Rap”, Freedom, I’m Your Man” and more. On the filip side is a megamix of early 80’s disco/funk/r&b tracks, including “Love Come Down” by Evelyn King, “Get Down Saturday Night” by Oliver Cheatham, and “You’re The One For Me” by D-Train.

Black Wax was an an early 1990s bootleg remix label which put out remixes and megamixes of music covering everything from ’50s to ’90s music. Many of the single artist remixes have new production under them making them very unique.

Thanks Paul for this re-rip. This Mega Mix is well done, sounds great and it’s a great tribute to George Michael’s works with Wham. I haven’t done any comments for weeks so I use this opportunity to wish you and all BTG readers all the best for this new year 2017.

Do you have any other Black Wax records? There was a megamix from Eurythmics from that label that was awesome. Heard once in a club almost 30 years ago and have been trying to track it down ever since.

I think both the Queen and the Abba megamixes by this label were the best.
    I have them at home.

    Thank You for George Michael.

He was / and is to me what Prince and David Bowe have been to others.
Many of his Songs are Songs from my personal Life Soundtrack.

December – as much as I like this month with the Christmas Season – was this year a bad and tough one in Berlin, Germany. Terror Attack and the death of George Michael.

This does look fun. I love these mega mixes, although i don’t think i’ve heard this one before. I love the sleeve design you created too.

    Thanks Paul 🙂

Awesome megamix – thank you very much!

As a side note, I’ve recently been going through my collection, and I’ve noticed the Wrap Her Up Single Version is exclusive to the 7inch vinyl.

Sadly this is just a fade out from the album version at 4:16 whereas the album version is 6:21.

Also, I can’t find evidence of the 7inch Fade ever being on an Elton John hits collection.

    It’s great discovering new gems!

    🙂

Very Wham!my cover mock-up, thanks for that. ^_^
I think I have the same Wham!-megamix on another slab of bootleg vinyl, backed with a hilariously bad (bootleg) remix of Freedom! ’90, with tons of ah yeahs and boogies.
