First things first: How was the Culture Club Show? I was so excited for you guys!! Hopefully, it was really, really fabulous!! I love when you share with us about the shows you go to. I positively L-O-V-E the music that moves you Paul!! You have superb taste, that’s for sure!!

Thank you for this King single. I feel so fortunate to have you as a guide through the 12-inches of the 1980’s and the ’90’s. So much I haven’t heard and/or missed purchasing, but because of you dear DjPaulT, I am in such a precious place in my life. One should never take you and all you do for granted Paul. It may sound cliché, but, your Burning The Ground is a platinum mine, an aural diamond mine. So many gems, so little time. I do panic because I don’t want your beautiful site and you to go away. All of us should never, ever take you and what’s here for granted. Thank you most whole heartedly for all these exquisite gifts.

Please, enjoy your weekend and thank you a million times over!!!

    Jeff

Had a blast last night at the Culture Club concert, the band played at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel/Casino in Tulsa. Boy George and the rest of the original line up John Moss, Mikey Craig and Roy Hay performed a two hour set of their most iconic songs and then some. This was the first time Culture Club had ever been to Tulsa Boy George commented on how he always wanted to come here because he loved the Gene Pitney song “24 Hours To Tulsa”. Culture Club is currently touring the USA so get tickets if you can.

    Set List:
    Church of the Poison Mind
    It’s a Miracle
    I’ll Tumble 4 Ya
    Move Away
    Human Zoo
    Everything I Own
    Black Money
    Time (Clock of the Heart)
    Like I Used To
    Different Man
    Miss Me Blind
    The Crying Game
Do You Really Want to Hurt Me
    Victims
    More Than Silence
    The War Song

    Encore:
    Runaway Train
    Karma Chameleon
Bang a Gong (Get It On)

Sounds AWESOME Paul!! Great set list. I love their “Victims” song so much. Boy George has one of the best voices in the Biz!! Gives me chills, it’s just so beautiful.

I can’t beleive they played The War Song! Fabulous. I hope you did a dance?

What a brilliant set list. God I’d love to hear Time (Clock of the Heart) live, it’s one of my favourites by them?

What sort of capacity was the venue Paul? Was it seated or standing?

    DjPaulT Reply:

Jermajesty from the venue web site:

The Joint: Tulsa is unlike any entertainment venue in the area. The 45,000-square-foot room offers amphitheater-style seating with excellent sightlines to watch top acts burn up the stage. Combine that with a state-of-the-art light and sound system within an intimate 2,700-seat setting, and you have a one-of-a-kind experience you’ll only find at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.

Hi Paul & folks, I just wanted to tell you that the full length “(Breaker Heart Mix)” can also be found on the 1998 CD “The Best Of King – Love & Pride”.
The question is if we do need this as we have it in excellent “DjPaulT quality”! 😉

Indeed it does feature on that CD. There is a shorter version called The Taste Of Your Tears [Breaker Heart CD Mix] on the Bitter Sweet reissue running at 5:43.

Thanks so much for sharing this one. As a side note, I saw King open for Nona Hendryx on July 4, 1984, in London. (I remember the date for obvious American reasons.) They were an exceptional live band.
