Thank you Paul for posting this track by DAF. I’m not very familiar with their back catalog, but I love how you’re my guide to all music that is noteworthy and excellent. If it wasn’t for you, I’d miss out on all the music I’ve regrettably missed through the years. Your site is the best that’s out there. Not just for my favorites, but for all the new favorites I’m compiling as you keep posting them.

    Hats off to you DjPaulT!!!

Thanks for all these obscure gems Paul. Love this single. Is there a 7″ mix as well?

    DjPaulT Reply:

You’re welcome Omar. There is a 7″ but I do not have it.

Excellent selection Paul! DAF is such an underrated outfit yet very influential in the electronic music genre. I was hooked the first time I heard this in a club. Perhaps another naughty bump-n-grinder, Voulez Vous Coucher Avec Moi might be an upcomong project??? (fingers crossed) Thanks for the great work!

I will see what I can do Thomas 🙂

Loved this single (and I still do). Even though the sound is different from the earlier DAF work, it’s still sexy and dance-able in their unique electronic way. Thanks for posting.

    Hi Paul

Always loved DAF – Der Mussolini and Verlieb Dich In Mich were classics, and I seem to recall Jimmy Somerville saying they were an influence on him. They disappeared for a couple of years and then returned with a somewhat different sound on Brothers and the equally excellent Absolute Body Control (not least as they’re sung in English rather than their previous German). There’s a Razormaid remix of Brothers but it doesn’t add anything.

While the band were on hiatus, Robert Görl released the excellent Mit Dir single, and then switched to English for Darling, Don’t Leave Me, which has backing vocals from Annie Lennox. The accompanying Night Full of Tension album includes the song Charlie Cat, with Annie on lead vocals this time. She was effectively returning a favour as Robert played drums on the first Eurythmics album, In The Garden. They supposedly had a fling too.

Thanks, as always, for posting. I’ve not played my copy in a very long time so I’ll enjoy listening to this.
