“No Say In It” is a song by Australian synth-pop band Machinations. The song was lifted from the bands second full length album Big Music. “No Say In It” reached #14 on the Australian Kent Music Report Singles Chart in September 1984.

“No Say In It (Mendelsohn’s Played Mix)” is exclusive to the Australian release. As a bonus track I included “5 Minutes Black” which was included as the b-side of the US and Canada releases of “No Say In It”.

Man Paul, I love it when you post things from Australia!! That country has it all!! Great accents, gorgeous people (Hot women and very hot men. I’ve seen DNA magazine and I am so jealous of those models’ DNA!!) and phenomenal art and music culture!! I love how you show and share the love of their many talented musicians. I am so happy you posted this track as it is a new one for me too. I love this education Paul!! I am filled up with excitement and fire!! PLUS, it’s got a Julian Mendelsohn mix besides which guarantees its AWESOMENESS!! And you’ve also generously included a bonus track too. Paul, you burn with such brightness and passion and your enthusiasm is so contagious!! I am swooning already!!

    Thanks for EVERYTHING!!!

Thank you Jeff. I love all things Aussie 🙂 This is a great bend one I hope you will like. Julian also produced the album that this track was taken from, Really good stuff.

Such an incredible track, DJ Paul!

I didn’t know it and the sound is fantastic,
especially in the middle of The Cut Mix
that I think is even better than the J. Mendelsohn version.

    DjPaulT Reply:

I agree with you BE.D12” I think the “Cut Mix” is a little better 🙂

  3. David Gerard Says:

I bought this when it came out, and played it very loud all afternoon.

Do you have any other Machinations? “Pressure Sway” and “My Heart’s On Fire” would be just the thing for the blog.

    DjPaulT Reply:

I will see what I can do David 🙂

  4. Chris Says:

First heard this in the movie Ruthless People in 1986.
Thanks for another good memory, Paul.

    DjPaulT Reply:

Completely forgot it was in that movie Chris. Thanks for the reminder 🙂

  5. Andrew Says:

Yay Paul. I have had my own rips sitting on my hard drive for years now needing to be cleaned up with some care and attention. I can just delete my wav files now and free up some space. Thanks heaps.

    DjPaulT Reply:

    You’re very welcome Andrew 🙂

  6. Jason Says:

Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi. Thanks Paul. It would be great if you have more Machinations to share such as the 2 m2ntined above as well as You Got Me Going Again, Do To You and Intimacy. Cheers from Oz.

  7. DaveMate Says:

    Thanks Paul!
This Aussie already have various rips of this track, but somehow I think I can now delete them all and yours will be the keeper – great work – thank you.

All the other Machinations tracks are awesome, as pointed out above. But really look out for Cars And Planes, which was released towards the end of the 8o’s, which was remixed by Mark Berry, and has some of those defining samples from that time plastered all over it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTwy56d5s5A

  8. Kostas Says:

Brilliant band of their time! They had a few more great singles before & after this. Also The Venetians were a very good band of the same era! thanks for this Paul!!

    Kostas Reply:

“Pressure Sway” which was their “Debut Single” by memory is also a brilliant Extended track!!

  9. Dirk Says:
