“State Of The Heart” is a song originally recorded by Australian rock band Mondo Rock in 1981. Fellow Australian Rick Springfield covered the song for his 1985 studio album Tao. Springfield’s version peaked at #22 on April 17, 1985 after spending 15 weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100.

    Ah, the remix of the Top 40 pop record!! Paul, if it weren’t for you, these classics would certainly be ignored and/or lost. I love these Rick Springfield dance versions because of their fleshed-out energy and all the bells and whistles a remixer would include on them. Thanks most highly for putting these on your site. I so cherish the rare remix that has escaped memory for way too long!!
