“The Time Warp” is a song featured in the 1973 rock musical The Rocky Horror Show and in the 1975 film adaption The Rocky Horror Picture Show, as well as a dance performed during the chorus of the song of the same name. The song is both an example and a parody of the dance song genre in which much of the content of the song is given over to dance step instructions. The dance is one of the major audience-participation activities during screenings of the film and performances of the show. It has become a popular song beyond the reaches of the film and show, and is often played at dances and weddings.

In 1989 The Rocky Horror Picture Show was released on CD for the first time to coencide with the 15th Anniversary of the films release. “The Time Warp” was given a fresh remix released on a special 12″ maxi-single by Ode Records.

OH…….MY………..GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!! Whoa Paul, I have extreme CHILLS!!! You are so phenomenally awesome for doing this. How appropriate too, as 2015 marks the fortieth anniversary of the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. And, wow, just in time for all of our Halloween parties. Nobody celebrates the Season of the Witch quite like you do DjPaulT!! You have so many of these fright-tastic “Crypt Jams” that you have resurrected from our audio past, that it’s truly astonishing!! I have made some awesome CD’s for All Hallows Eve just using your brilliant tunes you have assembled here on Burning The Ground. I can’t wait to have this one. I do have it on CD, but that was years ago and your rips are just so beautifully….SCARY!!! I can’t wait to “jump to the left and then step to the right, etc.” Oh Paul, you are the ultimate disc jockey.

Have a great day and phenomenal weekend!!
(You know I will, that’s for sure!!)

The UK-television-series Spaced has a scene with quite on the spot parody of people who dance to it :-0 (No offence, i myself dance like a garage-tool.)
