I have the full album in my archive and to be honest it’s no surprise it failed to chart successfully, it was never a good choice for a single (too complex?). But plenty of others on the album!

Thanks as always for the rip Paul 🙂

Although not as immediately catchy as their “I Eat Cannibals,” I still have a soft-spot for this song. Actually, the more I play it, the more I love it and can’t get it out-of-my-head. Paul, you’re so cool for bringing this back to life on your webpage. I love how these tunes sound with your new turntable and your ripping talents only get better and better. Many thanks!

    Jeff

Bonus Beats: Today is the day that the “Sound of Music” movie debuted, fifty years ago in New York City. I’ll be playing your marvelous rip of Show-Stoppers ’81 “The (Disco) Sound of Music” in honor of the anniversary. Such variety Paul you have on Burning The Ground. I swoon whenever I think about your records!!!

Jeff I think I actually like this track better than “I Eat Cannibals” both are very catchy. I was just looking at the Life magazine with “Sound Of Music” on the cover and thought wow 50 years.I’m gonna have to dig ot that Show Stoppers 12″ and give it a list again 🙂

I do love this record. It was possibly too weird to be a hit (yes, even from the people who brought us “I Eat Cannibals”!), but I’m glad this extended version exists. The CD issue of the album has the two parts cross-faded very badly, so it’s great to get them “clean” at last!

Shame they never did a 12″ of “Hey Rajah”…

“Dracula’s Tango” is such a tremendous song. Hell, all of their records are! I have the 12-inch of “I Eat Cannibals” but sadly missed their fantastic album the first time around. Then, thanks to Razormaid! Joseph Watt did mixes of “Dracula’s Tango” and “Milk From The Coconut” which are wonderful in themselves. Mr. Watt is a phenomenal remixer with excellent fidelity just like DjPaulT. Total Coelo is such the quirky girl group. The perfect New Wave entity. Thank God we have Burning The Ground which celebrates them and other terrific 80’s bands. Thank you Paul for creating this sanctuary for all of us and for artists and their records that might be lost to time. This is music that is some of the most daring and creative ever.
