Ah, the DOA tsunami has ended. I’m not a real fan of DOA, but everytime you post something of DOA I try to ‘get it’. But I’m afraid this time too… it didn’t happen. I did find it very pleasant to read all the positive feedback you received these last days. Happy that many BTG’ers really enjoyed your DOA rips. Always nice you try to complete a catalogue of an artist on your blog, so you won’t hear me complain at all.

Okay, The Call. Don’t think I know this one, but I will find out soon. Great to have some American 80’s rock every now and then. Thanks Paul. Hope you have (it’s me again) ‘Promises’ real soon 🙂

Perhaps not a well remembered (except by Ray from above, of course) group, but this and The Walls Came Down were quite well known where I’m from. Thank you Paul!

    Hi,

haven’t left a note for quite a while. Great (mainly unknown) tune from THE CALL. I once wrote a review about “Reconciled” for the school newspaper back in 1986. Guess they didn’t sell more albums though. I own this 12″, but as always thanks for the high quality rip.

    Best wishes from Germany

Hi 1980-F it’s nice to see you comment again. This is a great song and very underated band.

Hi , I was only thinking about The Call today and how underrated they were. Who can forget when they burst onto the scene with ‘The Walls Came Down’. It got quite a bit of radio airplay in Australia. They have also have a song from ‘Reconciled’ called ‘I Still Believe’ that was covered by the muscled Saxophone player in ‘The Lost Boys’ movie. Sadly the lead singer and songwriter Michael Been passed away some years ago. Thank you for uploading the extended version of ‘Everywhere I go’.

You’re welcome Brett. “Walls Came Down” is a great song and I agree THE CALL are a very underated band. I had no idea that two of the members passed away very sad. This 12″ is pretty hard to get now days and usually expensive.

Man, how I remember The Call!! So happy to have this remix Paul. For some reason, I couldn’t download this track yesterday; it seemed to fail. I’ll try again this afternoon. Maybe it’s my connection, but I tried another track on BTG and it got through beautifully. Quite frustrating to be honest. Again, I just love what you provide for us. Your tastes are all over the sonic spectrum and I absolutely LOVE THAT!! You are stupendous Paul. I love it!!

    Jeff Reply:

Paul!! I was able to download this fabulous 12-inch. Man, I love rock dance mixes. This one was superb, thank you. Kind of reminded me of acts like The Alarm and U2. These records had some great dance versions on them. Again, many thanks for having these special versions.

I friggin’ love this song! And all this time, there was an extended mix? Amazing. You are the shizz, Paul. This is absolutely my fave track from the Call. Give me this, and the Damned – “Alone again or…”, maybe some Bolshoi or Camper van Beethoven, and I’m in “120 Minutes” heaven. Matt Penfield, where are you?
