Dolly Parton Concert Tonight!

Posted by DjPaulT on May 22nd, 2014

Very exciting day for me country legend Dolly Parton will kick off the U.S. leg of her “Blue Smoke” World Tour tonight right here in Tulsa. Dolly will perform two shows at The Joinf Hard Rock Casino. I am so excited this will be my first time seeing Dolly live. I have pretty good seats fourth row floor right of stage. With the show being tonight I will not be posting today lots of things to do. However I will be back tomorrow with a special Dolly post for Disco Friday and details about the show. If you have not picked up a copy of Dolly’s new CD “Blue Smoke” you should it’s classic Dolly at her best.

Cheers, Paul

Paul, I just admire your diverse musical tastes! I hope you have a blast this evening and have so much fun. I hear really great reviews about Dolly’s new album. I also hear that it’s one of her biggest charting albums on Billboard’s Top Album list.

I love how you share these updates with us. It’s more than just the rips and I appreciate that. It’s a great way to get to know the man we all care about.

Take care and again, have FUN!!!!

Potencial New Boy Friend is a good option for the next downloads Paul.

You’ll have an amazing time Paul. Saw her at the 9:30 club in Washington DC, and it was an amazing show that somehow managed to pack in so many amazing songs. She’s as warm and funny on stage as you’ll think she’ll be.

Wish I was seeing her again.

Have fun Paul. Enjoy the show 🙂

I saw Dolly back in ’92 in Wichita KS, took my mother for her birthday who was a life-long fan. It was mom’s first time seeing her and we had great seats. As I remember they were also 4th row! It was a great time and Dolly does love her fans so much. Mom’s gone now, but I always think about how much fun we had at her concert every time I see Dolly’s touring again or has put out a new album. I ordered her new album on vinyl, expecting it any minute now, and hope you have a great time at the show!

I’ve never seen her live either, but I’d love to. I hope it’s a great show and you enjoy your night 😎

Have a blast at Dolly’s concert, Paul. I hope she will sing Here You Come Again, my favourite Dolly single.

Have a great time, Paul. Dolly puts on an amazing show. She’s definitely one of my all-time favorites. I still have my really, really worn vinyl copy of the “Rhinestone” soundtrack.

Blue Smoke truly is an excellent CD. While not as excellent as Backwoods Barbie, like that album it’s excellent from beginning to end. (I was quite disappointed in her previous CD, Better Day. There’s some wonderful gems but it really felt like Dolly-by-the-numbers. But I digress…)

I have yet to see her live in person, but everyone should own a copy of her 2009 London concert CD/DVD set. (There’s the original release called Dolly: Live In London and a Cracker Barrel re-issue called An Evening With Dolly, which removes most Backwoods Barbie tracks from the CD component but adds two previously unreleased live recordings. The DVD is exactly the same from the original release.) It’s as good as you can get without actually being there in person when she performs. She’s incredibly talented, warm, personable, loves to tell you jokes and stories about the songs she’s singing, and you see who the real Dolly truly is beneath the flashy sequined low-cut dresses, big blonde wigs, and…well…her you-know-whats.
