Some more information on this record:

The chorus of this song (“See the wise man…”) is not sung by Peter Schilling, but by famous german 80s singer Hubert Kemmler aka Hubert Kah, who also co-wrote this song. The female vocalist, Susanne Kemmler, was his wife at that time.

Thanks Paul for bringing this great song back to our minds (although it hadnt slipped mine 😉 )

Beeroh, you’ve blown my mind with the Hubert Kah info. I had no idea that was him singing the chorus even though this track, along with Kah’s So Many People have always been among my favorite 80s songs. Thanks!

I knew Hubert was present in the recording, but didn’t know he handled the whole chorus…had to facepalm, really. You can hear it now when compared to any KaH track. Thanks for leading this horse to water on that. 🙂

  8. Silver Blue Says:

It’s been said that the song borrowed its rhythm line from New Order’s “True Faith” (I can hear the similarities), but has always been (along with Major Tom and Terra Titanic) one of my favourites by Peter Schilling. Thanks! 🙂

    DjPaulT Reply:

It does sound a bit like New Order and I was thinking Camouflage too.

    Goodguy Reply:

Thanks for the Terra Titanic reminder! That’s another fave of mine. It had a German 12″/CD5″ release as well on WEA, and was popular enough in Europe to have been reissued with new mixes a few times over the years too (hope they find their way to Paul someday). 🙂

Thakns Paul!, Your work is excellent, very professional. Many songs that you have posted i have on Compact disc, there are a great difference between the flat and metallic sound of CD versus the warm, deep and wide sound of vinyl, even the quality of sound of your work is comparable to SACD (super audio cd).

Thank you very much Eduardo Montenegro it’s worth the work to bring these records back to their full glory 🙂
