“Catch Me (I’m Falling)” is a dance-pop song released by the American group Pretty Poison in 1987. It was included on the soundtrack to the film Hiding Out, which starred Jon Cryer and came out the same year; the song later appeared on Pretty Poison’s debut album, Catch Me I’m Falling (1988). It was the group’s biggest hit single to date, peaking at number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in late September 1987. Later that same year, the song charted inside the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number eight and remaining in the top 40 for 14 weeks. The single was certified gold by the RIAA on March 9, 1989. In the UK the song entered the Top 100 for two weeks at the end of January 1988 and peaked at number 85.

Thanks Paul, one of my favorite songs from the 80’s. I hope you are feeling better. And thank you again for your continues work bring us some of the greatest hits from the dancefloors and as well as some forgotten or undiscoverd gems. I was wondering if you could post if you have it the Spanish mixes that Virgin released in 1987 to comply with the English language versions. I remember getting both of these promos sent to me back during that time. And have worn out both vinyls. Thanks again for taking the time to continue this blog and sharing such great tunes, and memories with us. A J

Hey Paul, thanks I included the you tube link in case you don’t have it. It was produced by Ultimix but later released as an official promo by Virgin I believe in 1988 if I’m not mistaken. But we played it a lot at here in California in them days. Glad to see Jade is back with some new music thou she never left…thanks again my friend…you are the best…A J

Like the other poster, I’d love to hear the spanish 12″ as well. That’s the version I grew up on…and it’s one of the few examples of a well-executed spanish language version of a song.

Welcome back! Hope you’re feeling better. I hope this post means you will be doing a “Hiding Out” series and will share the Boy George 12″ “Live My Life”. The US 12″ has 3 dub mixes that have never been released on CD, and the CD that did come out is a promo only that goes for hundreds of dollars.

    DjPaulT Reply:

Hi David didn’t have that one planned but I do have the record so hopefully I can get it posted soon 🙂

    Hi Paul!
Great to see that you’re back in action. And more importantly, this means that you’re well and up and about!
Such a classic single. Thank you!
It was an exciting time in AT40. I remember this charting together with Jody Watley’s Don’t You Want Me and Debbie Gibson’s Shake Your Love. Plus Taylor Dayne had just launched AT40 debut Tell It To My Heart.
There’s also an earlier release of this single with more and different mixes. Would you happen to have them too, Paul?
