I’ve never seen this movie, despite seeing the first two Vacation movies many times. Only in the past couple years did I realize how popular it had become, lots of Uncle Eddie holiday jokes I don’t get. I think I need to check it out soon … as well as this song. Thanks, and once again, happy holidays!

Good post! I think most bloggers who have posted this in the past have just taken the audio from the opening credits of the film. So it’s great that you actually posted the promo. I’ve always found this song so boring, sounding like it’s lacking something, like inspiration & energy. It certainly could have been so much more than it is, especially considering the creative people involved in its making.

    Thanks for this, Paul.

The only OFFICIALLY released CD that contains this song is The Ultimate Christmas Album Vol. 3 from 1996. Somewhat ironically, Time-Life Music’s A Hollywood Christmas (2009) features “Holiday Road” in its only non-live CD appearance.

Wishing you a Happy and a Merry.
