Thank you DjPaulT for this great 12″. I saw her perform in Chicago in 1984. It was an unforgettable show. There is a new documentary film, ‘I am Divine’ coming soon. All the best.

    DjPaulT Reply:

ooh cant’t wait to see that documetary I love Divine. I bet that live show was too cool 🙂

Thank you for this gem. Fierce cover art! I got into Divine’s music late so I’m hungry for as many 12″ rips as I can lay my hands on. Yours are of the highest quality, Paul. Ever think of doing a Hi-NRG Friday spinoff? Whatever you choose, please don’t stop.

Thank you Matt I love Divine too. I will consider the Hi-NRG spin off 🙂

I don’t know how Divine was in 1984, but I saw him in concert in 1988, about six weeks before he died. It was a horrible show. Divine was nasty to the audience, but not in a fun way; he seemed genuinely bitter and ran through the songs as quickly as possible. It wasn’t a surprise to me that he died so soon afterwards. If the other parts of his life were at all like he was that night, he just wasn’t interested in being there/here.

    Interesting story VanceMan.

I didn’t even know he did gigs until Cherry Red’s recently released live DVD of Divine at The Hacienda, Manchester (UK, 1983).

He seems in good spirits there, esp considering the audience just stand there not knowing what’s hit them. 😀

Would have loved to see Divine live I am sure it was an experience that one would never forget.

Always loved the Bobby O Divine records. I have the Special Remix version – http://www.discogs.com/Divine-Shake-It-Up-Special-Remix/release/1374965 – and even at 9:28 it’s still not long enough!

    DjPaulT Reply:

Yep that is a good mix too 🙂

  5. Jeff Says:

We all owe Divine a tip of our collective hats as it was her “You Think You’re A Man” that got Pete Burns & Company (Dead Or Alive) to get S.A.W. to produce their records. She was and will always be….FIERCE!!! Thank you Paul for your latest!

  6. Wally B. Meraz Says:

He was in Patrick Miller’s club here in Mexico in 1984, I’m dj now dj the club 🙂

    Thanks a lot DjPaulT!!!
