    Oooh Yeah!
So happy that you posted this because this is one 12″ that is unavailable on CD.
    Thanks Paul.
I love the culture back then that record company in each country has a say in their choice as a single. Everything is so homogenized now. Brings the world together, but making music over saturated and less exciting in the process.
This was the time when the big three – Paul Young, Nik Kershaw and Howard Jones all returned with their respective third studio albums. Expectations were high because they all ruled the charts from 1983-1985.
Yet, the lead-off singles and the parent parents all failed to make any impact!
None of the singles made the UK Top 20.
Paul Young’s Wonderland only hit #24. Nik Kershaw’s When A Heart Beats peaked at #27. And as mentioned by Paul, All I Want only reached #35.
I love all three singles, and was really baffled back in late 86 that all three comebacks ended as limpbacks. Perhaps there was a 3rd album jinx going on in 1986!

You’re absolutely right Ric! I was always very fascinated by the different single choices worldwide. And sometimes the record companies in the different territories made different single edits too.
    Those were the days….

    Nice post Paul, again.

Thank you Stefano. I was always fascinated how different countries released different singles and mixes even packaging in their respective countries. Wish it could still be that way too 🙂

I was a huge Hojo fan up until this single – it took ages to grow on me and didn’t do too well here in the UK. I hunted everywhere for the limited 7” gatefold with booklet at the time and found it months later in a bargain bucket for 20p lol It’s great his music new and old is still so popular. Thanks again Paul for making wolfie howl with delight!
