BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1987

A. Front

“Everywhere” is a single released by the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac from their album Tango in the Night, written and with lead vocals by Christine McVie. It was released in the United Kingdom on February 24, 1988 and reached #4 there. In the United States, it was released earlier on November 28, 1987 and reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and went to #1 on the U.S. adult contemporary chart, remaining there for three weeks. The song also reached the Top 50 in Australia at number forty-five.

**SPECIAL NOTE:
Originally this 12″ included the album track “When I See You Again” as the b-side. For this post I omitted that track and replaced it with the rare “You And I (Par 1)” taken from the b-side of the UK “Big Love” 7″.

Thanks Kookoo I did my best. The mastering/pressing of this 12″ wasn’t the best.

    Great post Paul.

About the pressing quality: I think that the German Warner pressings overall are far superior to the UK Warner pressings. If you have a choice buying a German or UK Warner pressing, then always take the German! The record plant of Warner Germany in Alsdorf used better vinyl.

If you want to have a better quality of You And I (Part 1), the German 12 inch of Big Love contained that track on the B-side. Most of the time a 7 inch is inferior to a 12 inch.

Thanks for the info Stefano. I gave up trying to buy copies of the Big Love 12″ because every copy I bought had the wrong b-side. I bought the US and UK versions and both had the b-side mislabeled. Even the 7″ I used for this post was labeled incorrectly. It was correct on the sleeve but incorrect on the label.

Very annoying! But the German pressing is correct…

Thank you so much for “You And I”! I wish they’d included it as an intro to Tango in the Night so Parts 1 and 2 bookended the entire album; Part 1 sounds like a descent into dreamland, so putting it at the front turns the album into a suite of dreams for me.

Good to see this 12″ mix. My vinyl copy is in bad shape and certainly not “Near Mint” like yours. GREAT idea swapping the tracks over. Thanks for doing that and including that rare b-side. I’m very happy 😀

Thanks for That part 1, Paul.
Tango In The Night is such a classic album.
    Great single choices. Excellent remixes.
Plus we get a selection of 3 unique vocalists on the various singles. All in the same group!

  10. Modernaire Says:

How about not OMITTING anything and just keeping the original “When I See You Again” as the b-side for this digital dub?

I’d LOVE to have that and “You And I (Par 1)” as a BONUS TRACK from the 7 inch so that it would be a more complete thing.

Please update if you can, thanks very much!

I have always been a huge fan of your blog and I don’t say it nearly enough but thank you for always doing these amazing rips. Everywhere is the only Tango 12″ I didn’t buy back in the day and I have no idea why. I must not have been able to find it because I’m such a Fleetwood Mac fan. And I must say I’ve had a few rips of this 12″ and yours is by far the best. And that rip of You and I part 1 is way better than the rips I have of this. I used to get so frustrated by this song because, as you said, every time I thought I’d bought it the label was wrong and it was part 2. But really, you’d never know this was from a 45. You are amazing.

    Hi Paul,
thank you for your wonderful work! Here’s a question: Is there any reason for you not including the Equipment Used, Software Used and Restoration Notes in the info file? I’ve stumbled upon a rip of yours on a p2p plattform. If this URL should die some time, this information would be lost.
