New Banner Design

Posted by DjPaulT on January 13th, 2013

Hey! I hope you guys are having a great weekend. I was playing around today with photoshop and I decided—since it’s a new year—why not give the blog a fresh look? I designed a new logo/banner (top of page) inspired by Duran Duran, of course. You probably noticed that I named the blog after one of Duran Duran’s songs. Also, over in the right side panel, there is a new little graphic. I also updated the facebook page. Feel free to use the banner graphics to help promote BTG! Hope you guys like the changes. See you tomorrow with new music!

How odd. This weekend I was looking up Duran covers, and the site popped up for a few with that banner. I thought, “Wow, he must have some dynamic banner that matches your search query.” For design delight, you can’t go wrong with any Duran up to 1985. Their album art was wall worthy.

Hey, that’s an idea Paul. Over time you could build up a galley of banners that rotate randomly each time someone visits the site. I’ve known a few popular music/band sites that have had that.

Any design inspired from Duran’s Art cannot go wrong. I believe they’re one of few groups (together with the Pet Shop Boys) who have such an advanced perception of art and design. Duran’s logos and fonts are awesome! I love the DD font you used (from the 1st album) and, of course, the “Notorious” little graphic! I love DD and I’m proud to follow a blog inspired by them!

Love the new banner design Dj Paul. It seems to give me this calm and serene effect (lol) whenever I pay a visit on your blog. And the inclusion of the Rubix cube in this latest design. Changing it up, I think, keeps it fresh. Great work my friend!
