“Young Hearts Run Free” is a disco song by American soul singer Candi Staton. Released in 1976 from the album of the same title, it spent a week at number one on the Hot Soul Singles chart. It also peaked at number twenty on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. “Young Hearts Run Free” went to number eight on the dance disco charts. “Young Hearts Run Free” was one of only two songs by Staton to reach the top 10 on the UK Singles Chart, it peaked at number two behind The Real Thing’s “You to Me Are Everything”.
In 1986 the song was remixed by John Morales and Sergio Munzibai (M&M). The reissue peaked at number fourty seven on the UK singles chart.

Such a classic Gay anthem. Lisa Stansfield covered this song in the 90′s, which is another version i like.

This is another of those songs that is hard to ruin by covers or remixes.
1986 is sort of a “comeback” year for Candi, as she scored a UK club hit end of that year with the later-remixed and now-classic You Got The Love.
