“Twist of Fate” is an early-1984 hit from Olivia Newton-John that headed the soundtrack for the film, Two of a Kind, starring Newton-John and John Travolta. It was written by Peter Beckett & Stephen Kipner and produced by David Foster for the film. It reached number four in Australia and Canada, while peaking at number five on the U.S. pop chart in January, becoming one of Newton-John’s last big hits “Twist Of Fate” was her last Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Billboard ranked it as number 42 on its listing of the top 100 singles of 1984.
“Twist Of Fate” was so popular prior to the release of the film Two Of A Kind that 20th Century Fox changed the films score to incorporate the song.

Strange or not but I also love to watch this movie.
My opinion often does not coincide with the opinion of the critics. Especially if that criticism applies to the things that are dear to me and understood as the simple truth…

The movie might not be Gone With The Wind, but why must it be?
I’ll always remember the edible shades whenever I hear the song or talk about the movie. LOL!
Such carefree times!
The soundtrack is wonderful I agree, all those Olivia songs (Livin’ In Desperate Times coming?), and then that Patti Austin one as well (which you’ve already posted)!

I love Olivia Newton-John and have always been a huge fan of this song, but I have to admit, I’ve never been a huge fan of the 12″ remix. I dislike the way it starts, there’s some annoying repetition in a couple of parts, and overall it seems under mixed. But that being said, it sounds great, and I still love the original song. Thank you for posting this and the other ONJ music. Loved the mix for Soul Kiss!

I always loved this mix. I remember the first time I heard it was actually on KJ 103 FM in Oklahoma City back in those days it was really cool when the Top 40 station played a 12″ version. This 12″ was one of the first I ever bought
