Lindsey Buckingham – Holiday Road (US 12″ Promo)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1983
Happy 4th of July fellow BTG’ers, and to everyone in the USA! “Holiday Road” is the perfect single to post. Many US citizens are celebrating our nation’s independence, and taking a well deserved holiday. Today many Americans are enjoying fireworks, cookouts, or a day at the beach. Although this is not a patriotic tune by definition, “Holiday Road” is a great song for summertime celebrations.
“Holiday Road” is a 1983 single written and recorded by Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. The song was featured in the 1983 film National Lampoon’s Vacation and was played during the opening titles. The song was also used in the sequels National Lampoon’s European Vacation and Vegas Vacation. The song peaked at #82 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1983.
Lindsey Buckingham has released a live version of the song on his 2008 album Live at the Bass Performance Hall.
In 2011, the song was used as the music on television advertising for Teletext Holidays in the United Kingdom and subsequently made UK #168 from the live download of the song; it became Buckingham’s first UK “hit” of sorts in nearly 30 years.

Happy 4th to you, Paul!
I have some complaints to make though, but not of you but of this tune.
IT should have been a hit!
IT should have been longer!
I spent a fortune in the 90s just to get a copy of Lindsey’s Introspective Promo CD mostly for this song!
LOL!
So in other words, this single is brilliant and worth the $$$ and what’s more, so appropriate for today! Sure puts everyone in a holiday mood!
So how did you celebrate today, Paul?

Hi Ric, I agree I want this song to be longer. I can never get enough of it. Today I just did the regular stuff. Tulsa is on the Arkansas river and the city always puts on a great fireworks show. So I watched fireworks and cooked out on the grill. Great fun!

Awesome. I have been wanting this song since it has been playing endlessly on that commercial. I had no idea it was Lindsey Buckingham. Weird
Happy 4th, Paul!

Surprised there was never a remix/long version released, and even MORE surprised it didn’t do better on the charts!
