Andrew Ridgeley – Red Dress (UK 12″)

Posted by DjPaulT on April 17th, 2012

“Red Dress” is the second and final single released from Andrew Ridgeley’s only solo album Son Of Albert. “Red Dress” was the only track on the album to feature George Michael on backing vocals. The single was not succesful and failed to make any impact on the charts. A promotional video was filmed for the single showing a shirtless Ridgeley playing guitar.

Ridgeley now lives near Wadebridge, Cornwall, United Kingdom, in a restored 15th century farm property with his girlfriend Keren Woodward of the pop group Bananarama. The majority of his spare time is taken up by golf and he is a keen member of a local club where he plays off a handicap of 10;. He is also a keen Queens Park Rangers fan.

OMG, doesn’t Red Dress sound quite like Rocks by Primal Scream?! (1994)

That’s one comparison I never imagined I’d ever make.

  6. ric Says:

Not only Red Dress, even Shake sounded like something fomr the early 90s Manchester scene.
Really surprisingly in retrospect that Andrew was so ahead of his time.
Well, at least he “chose” to co-write the second best-selling single of Wham!/George Michael…that should keep his lifestyle comfy.
Golf now eh? I remember he was into car-racing during the 80s, even had a crash! LOL!
Thanks for your double dose of Mr Ridgeley, Paul!

    DjPaulT Reply:

You’re welcome Ric! Mr. Ridgeley is definately a talented man 🙂
