BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1981
REQUEST
“Time After Time” is a song originally recorded by Nick Gilder in 1979 for the Chrysalis records album Frequency.
In 1981 “Time After Time” was covered by American singer Toni Basil. It was released as asingle from Basil’s Worg Of Mouth album in Europe and Australia. The single failed to make an impact and did not chart.
The b-side “You Gotta Problem”, is a nearly straight-ahead remake of Devo’s “Pity You”, released just a year before on Devo’s New Traditionalists album.
Music videos were filmed for both “Time After Time” and “You Gotta Problem” and were featured on the Word of Mouth video album released only on VHS in 1981.

I used to have this 12″ but mine had a photo cover (not a great one — a cheap-looking, high-contrast back & white thing). Did this one come in plain sleeve?

“Only on VHS”? Sorry, no – I actually own a copy of the Word of Mouth video album on … Betamax! Would be lovely to see a complete collection of her videos come out on DVD.
Thanks SO much for all these! I have some of them on vinyl, but don’t have the gear to make a decent transfer, much less the kind of gear you use.
