Men At Work – Everything I Need (US 12″ Promo)

Posted by DjPaulT on February 24th, 2011

“Everything I Need” was a single released in 1985 by the Australian group Men at Work. The song was written by Men at Work singer/guitarist Colin Hay and the recording was produced by Hay with keyboardist Greg Ham. The song appeared on the group’s album Two Hearts.

The tune has a bouncy, midtempo pop/rock feel, and is marked by a loud, thwacking drum rhythm and a prominent slide guitar solo.

“Everything I Need” was not a major hit. It peaked at #47 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was in fact to be the last Men at Work single to make the charts.

It’s always with such Glee when I click on your link every morning, anticipating which part of the excessive/fun/frivolous/carefree 80s you’ll take me. And more often than not you will render me breathless and speechless with gems like this.
I mentioned this 12″ in passing during one of our previous conversations, and you actually remembered and BOTEHRED to look for it (I know you didn’t have it in your collection then).
So what can I say…but Thanks! I’ll enjoy this tremendously for sure!

Ric you’re right I didn’t have this 12″ in my collection when you mentioned it a couple of weeks back, but I had always liked the song abd wanted to be able share it so I was lucky enough to find a beautiful copy of it so I bought it. I always try to find things that people are looking for and this was a great example. Ric you are one of my loyal readers who always leaves great comments that I appreciate very much.
