BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1983

REQUEST

“I’m Still Standing” is a song on English pop-rock performer Elton John’s 1983 album, Too Low for Zero. He sings about making a comeback despite problems in daily life. The video, directed by Russell Mulcahy, was shot in Cannes and Nice on the Côte d’Azur in France and features the colours of the French flag. Bruno Tonioli, a judge on the hit shows Strictly Come Dancing for BBC (UK) and its American adaptation, Dancing with the Stars for ABC in the US, appears as one of the dancers in the video.

The song became a big hit for John on both sides of the Atlantic, peaking at #4 in the UK, reached #1 in Switzerland and #12 in the US.

The b-side “Earn While You Learn” is an instrumental piece performed by Lord Choc Ice which is one of Elton John’s aliases. The song did appear as a bonus track on the 1998 remastered CD version of “Too Low For Zero” which is now out of print.

Lord Choc Ice. I love it. Paul, thank you for uploading this rarity! I appreciate it! I’ve been waiting to hear this version in excellent quality. It’s a shame that this “Extended Version” didn’t make the 1998 remaster of ‘Too Low For Zero’. And here we are 12 years later after that release and some 27 years after the song was released, and it still has yet to appear on CD. Shame! Thanks to you we can enjoy it in high quality FLAC!

I really enjoyed the “I’m Still Here” posting. This ELton selection of Artwork reminds me so much of your former reincarnation on “Burning the Ground”. I feel fortunate to have been able to share some of those masterpieces!
Also, I am an old “Motown Boy”, and would appreciate any R&B postings.
    But,
all in all, you are a true ARTIST, and it shows in all you do.

I actually went an watched the video again just to reccognize Bruno. God, how I had a crush on that “unknown dancer” — no wonder DWTS was “welcoming” when I saw him there (I just never connected the two!) I just wish record companies would come to their senses. Under 4 minutes is, IMHO, a remix, but not an EXTENDED mix. LOL!

Thanx a lot, my friend. As Tina said, ur simply the best! 🙂

Little advice. Maybe u can upload ur files with a better “disguise”. Seems that web servers are controlling every file thoroughly and deactivate a file for hours or any toher “trick” to prevent downloads.

Thanx again and may the force be with you 🙂
